Dr Farooq Azam Rathore is a Consultant and Associate professor in Rehabilitation Medicine at the Armed Forces Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, Pakistan. He describes himself as a rehabilitation physician, learner, teacher and mentor. He has more than 200 publications with >3000 citations. He has been an invited and plenary speaker in national and international conferences and chaired and co-chaired scientific sessions. He has won multiple national and international awards, travel grants and scholarships. He is an editorial board member of several Journals. He has performed more than 350 reviews for around 60 national and international biomedical journals. He is the national representative of Pakistan for the International Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ISPRM) and Asia-Oceanian Society of PMR and Advisory Board Member of Cochrane Rehabilitation. He is passionate about teaching research writing and has conducted more than 110 workshops on medical writing, scientific misconduct, research ethics, presentation skills, spasticity management and stroke rehabilitation in 7 countries of the world. He has conducted more than 50 online training sessions, webinars and lectures since 2020. His areas of interest and research are spinal cord injuries, stroke rehabilitation, amputee management, disaster rehabilitation, medical education, and Bioethics.
