As we daily work to meet the needs of peer reviewers, we introduced new fields on our platform that will improve their experience on reviewercredits.com.

Academic Status, with 5 options: Very Early-Career Researcher, Early-Career Researcher, Mid-Career Researcher, Senior Researcher, Retired Researcher. Every option includes the positions that match the Academic Status, to help our reviewers in the choice.

1 new academic status field

This new field replaces an existing one on our platform – Position – since the Academic Statuses are now more and more spread among the scientific community and the scholarly literature. In particular, we have deepened the main issues and debates about the Early Career Researchers and their crucial contribution to research through peer review. We think that enlighting the ECR status in their profiles on our platforms could be a little but important step to “bring peer review ghostwriters out of the dark” (Gary S. McDowell, Caroline A. Niziolek, Rebeccah S. Lijek, “Molecular Biology of the Cell”).

Keywords. With this new field, we want to offer to peer reviewers the highest number of concepts that belong to their specializations and working fields – in addition to the existing Primary Topics.

2 new keywords field

From now reviewers can choose from 3 to 10 keywords among 16,000 Medical Subject Headings (MeSH®), that we imported into our servers as a courtesy of the U.S. National Library of Medicine.

Our existing users will find these new fields in their Edit Profile page, after clicking on My Profile in the Main Menu.
