The journal Storia delle Donne was born from the collaboration of specialized scholars of different eras and disciplines - trained in schools of various Italian universities - and is proposed as a publication with a high scientific content. SdD has an annual frequency, the numbers are thematic and almost completely devoid of headings due to the editorial choice of presenting each issue as a whole so that the evidence and importance of the proposed topic are better understood, focused and developed. The idea underlying the SDD project looks at the link between history and politics of women, but gives priority to that between history and politics for women and with women; this is one of the reasons why the choice of the theme of the dossiers is dictated by the processes in progress and by the urgencies that contemporaneity proposes. The theme is developed in the Present section by contributions that illustrate it with deliberately multidisciplinary approaches and methods, without this identifying SdD with the interdisciplinary nature of Women's Studies. In the Past section, the essays return the historical and diachronic depth in the longue durée that runs from ancient civilizations to the contemporary age. A section entitled Beyond the theme has also been planned, where articles of a strictly historical nature, but eccentric with respect to the theme of the issue, are hosted. SdD pays particular attention to the research of young scholars and scholars. In both sections, parts of degree or doctoral theses and even independent studies may be published. All the texts published in SdD are evaluated, according to the double blind peer review method, by two referees identified within a wide circle of specialists and specialists.
