IEEE Latin America Transactions is a peer-reviewed, refereed and monthly scientific journal. The journal is sponsored by IEEE Region 9 (Latin America and Caribbean) and is focused on the dissemination of high-quality research papers and review articles written in English, Spanish or Portuguese in three main areas: Computing, (Electric) Energy, and Electronics, with preference given to papers reporting on emerging topics or solving problems in Latin America. Some of the sub-areas of the Journal are, but not limited to: control of systems, communications, instrumentation, artificial intelligence, power and industrial electronics, fault diagnosis, transportation electrification, internet of things, electrical machines, microwaves, circuits and systems, biomedical engineering, haptic applications, secure communications, robotics, sensors and actuators, industrial systems, renewable energy, power electronics, computer networks, smart grids, among others. For a paper to be considered for the Journal, a substantial contribution with respect to previous work in the field must be demonstrated. Moreover, papers contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for Latin America are strongly preferred; such motivation should be described during the submission process in the letter to the Editor and in the manuscript.
