Javier J. Amores is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Communications of the Catholic University of Chile (UC), and member of the Audiovisual Content Observatory (OCA) of the University of Salamanca (Spain). Previously he has also been a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Salamanca and the University of Milan (Italy), and completed a four-month research stay at the Media Informatics Laboratory, attached to the School of Journalism and Mass Communications of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece).
Javier holds a Master's Degree in Audiovisual Communication Research with Extraordinary Award, and a PhD (cum laude) in Communication Sciences with Extraordinary Award by the University of Salamanca. His dissertation won the first award from the Spanish Association of Universities with Degrees in Information and Communication Sciences (ATIC), for the best doctoral thesis in these fields in Spain.
Javier has participated in more than 20 national and international funded research projects (including 4 funded by the European Commission), and has published more than 35 academic publications in the fields of communication, information and social sciences. He has also presented more than 40 papers at national and international scientific conferences and has been invited as a speaker in over 25 academic events, including conferences, seminars, and workshops.
He has taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of Salamanca, the Catholic University of Chile and the University of Milan. Additionally, he has delivered numerous courses and seminars as a invited lecturer at international institutions, including Elisava School of Design in Barcelona (attached to Pompeu Fabra University), Complutense University of Madrid, Pontifical Comillas University of Madrid, University of Almería (Spain), University of Azuay (Ecuador), University of Colima (Mexico), and the Metropolitan Autonomous University of Mexico.
Javier is a member of the International Communication Association (ICA), the International Sociological Association (ISA), the Spanish Association for Communication Research (AE-IC), and the Chilean Association of Communication Researchers (INCOM Chile).
